A 45-year-old Beaverton man who once coached youth soccer in the Portland Timbers organization is set to stand trial in September on charges he raped a 15-year-old girl at his home last year.
Eihab Sayed Daoud faces first- and third-degree rape, first- and third-degree sodomy, second-degree online sexual corruption of a minor and luring a minor, according to Washington County Circuit Court records reported by The Oregonian/OregonLive. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Prosecutors allege Daoud began messaging a teenager on a privacy-focused app last year, eventually arranging for the girl to come to his Beaverton home. He allegedly raped her there on April 12, 2025. The girl reported the assault that same day.
After the report, investigators used the teenager's phone to pose as the girl and messaged Daoud, according to court records. When the investigator told Daoud the girl was 15, he still tried to arrange another meeting, prosecutors allege.
Daoud's defense attorneys contend in court filings that the encounter was consensual and that he did not know the girl's age. His lawyer asked the public "to withhold judgement until all facts are known," according to The Oregonian/OregonLive.
Timbers connection
A civil-court document filed in July 2024 during divorce proceedings states Daoud worked as a coach for the Portland Timbers and FC Portland Soccer Academy. He also served as an education instructor for the Oregon Youth Soccer Association, the document states.
Jason Carney, FC Portland Soccer Academy's director of coaching, told The Oregonian/OregonLive that Daoud was let go from the organization in 2019. Carney declined to comment on the reason. The Portland Timbers did not respond to the newspaper's questions about Daoud's former role.
Court records filed by Daoud's lawyers state he left soccer in 2020 and has primarily been a stay-at-home parent since, with some coaching consulting and rideshare driving.

Daoud's next court date is Aug. 31, according to KATU, with trial scheduled for September in Washington County Circuit Court. The exact trial date has not been publicly specified.
The case is the third child-exploitation matter tied to a Beaverton resident this summer. Erlend Secret Vikar, 41, was sentenced July 29 to 15 years in federal prison for coercing a 16-year-old in Germany into sending explicit material. William Galeana Yovis, 26, was arrested in an undercover child sex exploitation sting in Washougal and faces multiple charges.
Neither the Beaverton Police Department nor the Washington County District Attorney's office has issued a public statement on the Daoud case as of Aug. 10.
