Thousands of books, DVDs and CDs go on sale at the Beaverton City Library starting Thursday, Sept. 24, with proceeds supporting library programs.
The Fall Book and Media Sale, organized by the Friends of the Beaverton City Library (FBCL), runs through Sunday, Oct. 4, at the library, 12375 SW Fifth St. The nonprofit funds a large portion of the library's Summer Reading program and provides revenue for materials the regular budget doesn't cover.
The sale opens with Members & Teachers Night on Sept. 24 from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Shoppers need a FBCL membership or a teacher ID to get in. Memberships are tax-deductible and include a 10% discount at the sale.
After opening night, the sale is open to all ages. The full schedule from the library:
- Friday, Sept. 25 and Saturday, Sept. 26: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Sunday, Sept. 27: Noon to 5:30 p.m.
- Monday, Sept. 28 through Saturday, Oct. 3: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 4 (Bag Sale): Noon to 5:30 p.m.
Deal hunters should mark Oct. 4. Shoppers can bring their own bag or grab one at the door and fill it for $10.
