The former Rite Aid at 12575 S.W. Walker Road is now a CVS Pharmacy, one of 13 Oregon locations that switched banners after Rite Aid's bankruptcy wiped out the chain's entire national footprint in 2025.
The Walker Road store reopened under CVS during August and September 2025, according to OregonLive, which published a statewide tracker on Monday, Aug. 24. A second nearby conversion at 17495 S.W. Farmington Road in Aloha opened in the same window, along with a third at 12240 S.W. Scholls Ferry Road in Tigard.
No Beaverton addresses appear on OregonLive's list of storefronts still sitting vacant as of August 2026.
That's better than the statewide picture: more than 40 Rite Aid locations closed across Oregon, and about 19 remain empty with no announced tenant. The closest vacant sites to Beaverton are at 5431 S.W. Beaverton Hillsdale Highway and 11190 S.W. Barnes Road, both in Portland.
The bankruptcy deal
A U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New Jersey approved the sale of select Rite Aid assets to CVS in May 2025. CVS completed the last Pacific Northwest transactions on Sept. 30, 2025, according to a company press release. In total, CVS acquired 63 former Rite Aid and Bartell Drugs stores across Idaho, Oregon and Washington and hired more than 3,500 former Rite Aid employees.
Len Shankman, executive vice president and president of pharmacy and consumer wellness at CVS Health, said in October 2025 that the acquisitions help maintain pharmacy access and grow the company's retail presence in local communities across 15 states.
What else is filling the gaps
Beyond CVS conversions, other Oregon Rite Aid shells have attracted discount retailers and specialty stores. A Burlington opened at 2021 N.W. 185th Ave. in Hillsboro in spring 2026. Ross Dress for Less moved into former locations in Hood River and Lincoln City as of July 2026, a Natural Grocers opened in McMinnville the same month, and a Grocery Outlet launched in Silverton in August 2026.
For Beaverton shoppers who used the Walker Road Rite Aid pharmacy, prescription files transferred automatically.
CVS said most of its new pharmacy locations sit within three miles of the former Rite Aid they replaced, and nearly half are within a mile. The company acquired prescription records for more than nine million former Rite Aid patients nationwide.
By October 2025, Rite Aid went from more than 1,200 locations to zero. A year later, the nearest new-tenant activity to Beaverton is the Burlington that opened at the former Rite Aid in Hillsboro's Tanasbourne area.
