Latin Grammy-winning mariachi group Flor de Toloache performs at The Patricia Reser Center for the Arts on Thursday, Oct. 15, headlining a stretch of family events across Beaverton through Sunday, Oct. 18.

New York City's first and only all-female mariachi ensemble takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. at The Reser, 12625 S.W. Crescent St. Founded in 2008 by Mireya I. Ramos and Shae Fiol, the group fuses traditional mariachi with jazz, rock, pop and R&B. Members hail from Mexico, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Colombia, Germany, Italy and the United States.

Flor de Toloache won the 2017 Latin Grammy Award for Best Ranchero/Mariachi Album for "Las Caras Lindas" and has shared stages with John Legend, Natalia Lafourcade and Mon Laferte. NPR has called the group's sound "at the crossroads of fusion and mariachi girl magic." Tickets are available on The Reser's website.

On Saturday, Oct. 17, the Kids Market sets up alongside the Beaverton Farmers Market at Beaverton City Park, 12500 S.W. Fourth St. Young entrepreneurs can sell their products and practice real-world business skills from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to the Hillsboro News Times weekly calendar. The farmers market, which draws 15,000 to 20,000 visitors on a typical summer Saturday, runs 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. through Nov. 21. Registration to participate as a Kids Market vendor is required.

The week wraps Sunday, Oct. 18, with the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District's (THPRD) Halloween Silly Walk & Dance Party at Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center, 9985 S.W. 125th Ave. The free event runs from 3 to 5:30 p.m., rain or shine. The center's front parking lot transforms into a trick-or-treat route with character meet-and-greets and a dance party with DJ Will. THPRD's event page notes the party falls on a new day and time compared to prior years, so returning families should check the updated schedule.

The event is open to all ages.
