The Beaverton Downtown Association is throwing a free afternoon party at Beaverton City Park on Sunday, Aug. 23, with live local music, a craft beer garden featuring three neighborhood breweries and artisan vendors selling handmade goods.
All three breweries operate within Beaverton city limits. Breakside, an employee-owned brewery at 12675 SW 1st St., was named Oregon Beer Awards Brewery of the Year in 2026.
Binary Brewing runs its pub at 12345 SW Broadway St. downtown, and Lazy Days took over the former Ex Novo location at 4505 SW Watson Ave. in early 2024.
Beyond beer, the event page lists food vendors, lawn games, children's activities and a marketplace of local artists and makers offering jewelry, home décor, artwork and specialty products.
Organizers encourage attendees to bring blankets, lawn chairs, sunscreen and water bottles. Visitors can bring their own food or buy from vendors on site. Parking around the park is limited; the BDA recommends walking, biking or riding MAX Light Rail to downtown.
The association is also looking for volunteers and accepting vendor applications through its website. Interested vendors and volunteers can reach the BDA by emailing [email protected].
Picnic in the Park is one of several free summer events the Downtown Association is producing this season. The group's Downtown Sounds series brings live music to the 1st Street Dining Commons on Thursday evenings through Sept. 24.
