Three artists will see their work on beer labels for the 2026-2027 season, thanks to a partnership between the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts and two downtown Beaverton micro-businesses celebrating the venue's fifth year.
The Reser, Lionheart Coffee Company, and BinaryBrewing.Co announced five limited-edition commemorative beers as part of the arts center's third annual Beer Label Design Contest. The beers will be available exclusively at Reser events, at BinaryBrewing.Co in the old Beaverton Bakery blocks and at Lionheart's two Beaverton locations.
The artists
An open call that ran from April 10 through June 10 asked Oregon and Washington artists 21 and older to respond to one or more of The Reser's core values: stewardship, intention, ingenuity, humility, excellence, connection, artistry and magic.
Three winners, each awarded a $500 honorarium, were notified by July 1.
Jordan Mason's linocut print label, "By Hand," draws on stewardship and magic. Suzanne Vu's "Echoes of Light" is an ode to The Puff, an interior feature of The Reser. Vanessa Vigil's "Linkage" blends the visual identities of all three partner organizations.
Vigil, a freelance artist, said in an October 2021 Five Oaks Museum feature: "I gain inspiration from traditional Mexican folk art and my Mexican-American culture."
The remaining two labels were designed in-house. One features The Reser's anniversary logo; the other takes inspiration from neighboring Beaver Creek.
The partners
The collaboration is now in its third year.
Lionheart Coffee Company, founded in 2015 by Ben and Lauren Reese, operates locations at 4590 SW Watson Ave. and 11421 SW Scholls Ferry Road. BinaryBrewing.Co sits roughly 2,000 feet from The Reser in the old Beaverton Bakery blocks on downtown's main stretch.
The Reser opened in March 2022 as a $55 million, 550-seat performing arts center at 12625 SW Crescent St., adjacent to the Beaverton Central MAX station.
What's next
The anniversary beers will be poured at all Reser events throughout the 2026-2027 season. A season launch party date has not yet been announced. Residents can also pick up the beers at BinaryBrewing.Co or either Lionheart location.
