Venezuela Grill on Northwest Twin Oaks Drive lost 19 points in Washington County's latest unannounced health inspection after inspectors found raw chicken stored above ready-to-eat food and no sanitizer used during dishwashing.

Venezuela Grill scored an 81 out of 100 in an early July inspection, falling below the 85-point benchmark that Valley Times reporter Kalena O'Connell flagged in her coverage published Tuesday, Aug. 4. A score of 70 is the minimum to pass.

Inspectors cited Venezuela Grill for storing containers of raw chicken above cilantro, cheese and oil. Items were moved to the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. Cooked potatoes, cooked meats and chopped vegetables had no date marks; those with unknown expiration dates were discarded. The restaurant also lacked sanitizer test strips, and sanitizer was not used during dishwashing or for cleaning towels.

Multiple water bottles, including one without a lid, were stored on the door of the freezer. Those were moved to personal belongings.

All violations were corrected on site.

Washington County's public health department conducts unannounced inspections twice a year. Priority violations carry a five-point deduction each, and Priority Foundation violations carry three points, according to the county's inspection portal. Inspection reports are publicly searchable through that portal, though the county notes a 14-day lag between inspection dates and online posting.

Meanwhile, 11 Beaverton restaurants earned perfect scores of 100 in the same inspection round: Barley's Burgers (11427 S.W. Scholls Ferry Road), Caspian Kabob (3807 S.W. Orbit St.), Chang's Mongolian Grill (10743 S.W. Beaverton Hillsdale Highway), La Catrachita (12975 S.W. Canyon Road), Ninja Bowl Teriyaki (731 S.W. 185th Ave.), Pastaliciouz (16365 N.W. Twin Oaks Drive), Pop & Pour Dirty Soda (14675 S.W. Teal Blvd.), Rovente Pizzeria (3905 S.W. Orbit St.), Village Cafe (330 S.W. Murray Blvd.), Western Pacific Catering (8045 S.W. Nimbus Ave.) and Wingstop (14740 N.W. Cornell Road).

Pastaliciouz shares the same Twin Oaks Drive address as Venezuela Grill and scored a perfect 100.
